Privacy Statement
Arcadis Nederland B.V., Beaulieustraat 22 6814 DV Arnhem, kvk 09036504 (hereinafter: Arcadis) is responsible for the data collected through the application Noiseforecast.app. The contact point for privacy-sensitive information is dataprotectionnederland@arcadis.com. General questions about the application can be asked via noiseforecast@arcadis.com..
For the use of this application, please enter your location. This information is used to provide you with the right forecast. Through the application you can pass on your personal observations to us. You can do this by pressing one of the labels on a 7-point scale for sound and a 5-point scale for shadow flicker. It is also possible to include a brief description of the sound in the comment field. The time and GPS coordinates of your feedback are recorded. We ask you to enable your device's location service for this. This is not mandatory, but without the location of the observation, your feedback is not usable and will not be registered. In our database, our forecasts, your observations and the corresponding time and location are stored. Your observations and location data are only used for statistical analysis, anonymized (graphical) representations, and anonymized reports. The raw data is stored for a maximum of 3 years.
Arcadis, our co-developer Django Web Studio and Linode who manages the cloud service are the only parties that have access to the database. The raw data is only analyzed by Arcadis. The results are only shared in an anonymized form with the operator of the wind farm, local residents and other stakeholders. Your observation and location data will only be shared directly with the wind farm operator if you explicitly indicate this at your feedback.
In order to protect data loss and against any form of unlawful processing, various technical and organizational measures have been taken. This includes an internet connection protected with SSL (TLS v1.2), a Firewall, an SSH configuration and the use of strong passwords.
This application uses cookies. A cookie is a simple, small file that is sent with this application and stored by your browser on your computer, smartphone or tablet. The information stored in it can be returned to our servers on a subsequent visit. These cookies facilitate the use of the application and allow us to collect information about the visits for optimization of the application and statistical purposes. This data is for internal use and is not passed on to third parties. If you do not want to use cookies, you can disable the acceptance of cookies in your browser settings.
We would like to point out that the collected data mentioned above, including both the address and the GPS coordinates, cannot be traced back to one individual. This is the case since anyone can enter an address of their choice – this does not necessarily have to be the (residential) address of the person entering the address. Based on the address entered, the prediction is then made. When passing on feedback, the GPS coordinates are recorded with your permission, from the combination of the address and the GPS coordinates it can only be deduced whether the user was near the entered address at the time of giving feedback, so that it can be determined which sound level and shadow flicker forecast belong to which feedback and whether the user was in the vicinity of the wind farm. Also, based on your GPS coordinates in combination with the address you entered, it is not possible to determine who provided the feedback down to the individual. For this reason, the data collected via the Noise Forecast application cannot be regarded as "personal data" as defined in the applicable privacy legislation. If you do not agree with this view, you always have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
Arcadis Nederland B.V. reserves the right to amend the Privacy Statement in connection with new developments. We therefore advise you to consult this text with some regularity.
